Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet 151 release date, card list, and how to pre-order

Celebrate the generation of Pokémon that started it all

As the origin point of the most profitable media franchise of all time, Generation 1 of Pokémon is unsurprisingly quite popular. The term “genwunner” has even arisen among the community to refer to people who are only familiar with the 151 Pokémon introduced in Kanto following the 1996 release date of Gen 1.

The Pokémon Company has opted to really lean into the genwunner market with its upcoming Trading Card Game set. Here’s everything you need to know about Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet 151, including its release date, card list and pre-order details.

The Pokémon 151 TCG set has a confirmed release date of June 16 in Japan, while the traditional Chinese version will launch in Taiwan and Hong Kong on June 30. Meanwhile, The Pokémon Company has confirmed that the English version will launch on September 22.

Currently, you can pre-order the Japanese version of Pokémon 151 by visiting websites that will sell the Japanese version of the TCG set at launch. For example, PlazaJapan allows you to pre-order booster boxes containing 20 packs of seven cards each, which will become available following the June 16 Pokémon 151 release date. In addition, the English version is available for pre-order via BestBuy.

Unsurprisingly, the Pokémon 151 card list features at least one card for each of the original 151 Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Red and Blue. There are 209 cards in total, with some Pokémon appearing on multiple cards of different rarities.

Notably, this will mark the first appearance of Kadabra in the TCG since 2003. For years, Kadabra disappeared from the Pokémon anime and TCG due to a controversy surrounding magician Uri Geller, who alleged that the Pokémon was unlawfully based on his likeness. However, Geller gave Nintendo his blessing to start printing Kadabra cards again in 2020.

Here is the full list of cards in the Pokémon 151 set, including their respective types and rarity ratings:
