The Overwatch 2 beta is coming back on June 28, officially adding a console version to this second version of the beta. This comes soon after the October 2022 release date for Overwatch dropped alongside news of the free-to-play model and new tank hero, Junker Queen.

The beta is back

Sign-ups for the second beta begin on Thursday. While the beta will be coming to PlayStation and Xbox, the Switch logo is not present on the graphic. Either way, console players will finally be able to try out Overwatch 2’s new heroes in Sojourn and Junker Queen, the new maps and the 5v5 changes.

The first Overwatch 2 beta was on PC only and ran from April 26 to May 17. There is no word on how long this second beta will last, but if the 22-day stretch remains the same, it would go from June 28 to July 19.

The newly announced tank hero, Junker Queen, will be playable during this beta, along with a soon-to-be-revealed new map. The new maps so far include Circuit Royal, Midtown and new Push maps Colosseo and New Queen Street.

More details on this second beta, including sign-ups and how console players can play Overwatch 2, will be revealed on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET. This coincides with more information about the Overwatch 2 early access release on Oct. 4 and the new animated short for the Junker Queen, named Wastelander.

Along with the release date of the early access of Overwatch 2, original Overwatch fans will get access to the Founder’s Pack DLC. It comes for free if you purchased the original Overwatch before June 23, 2022.  It is a limited time offer, only accessible if the player logs into Overwatch 2 before Dec. 5, 2022. The bundle includes a free icon, two epic skins and more that will be revealed later.
