Once Human Patch Notes TL:DR – September 12, 2024

Once Human is getting another new patch tomorrow, and there are some exciting changes on the way. These include, as always, new skins and cosmetics — but also a few new and re-introduced features.

Let’s get stuck in.

September 12 Patch Notes – Once Human

Here are the key takeaways from the latest round of patch notes for Once Human.

Increased Deviation Drop Dates

Deviation drop dates have been increased! That’s wonderful news. If you’ve been trying to get your hands on a Pyro Dyno or a Festering Gel, you’ll know that the process can be quite painful. Thankfully, the developers have heard our pleas and have decided to lighten the burden of Deviation farming a little.

Drop rates for “shiny” Deviations have also been increased, so your change to find that blue butterfly or gel is also a little high from tomorrow. There are also some new methods of obtaining Deviations in the wilderness, which include “neutral securement facilites” at camps (or safe zones).

Worlds will now Merge again in the Settlement Phase

As servers age in Once Human, players tend to drop out, and worlds can feel pretty empty. Given this, the developers have decided to re-introduce World Merge after it was previously disabled. This means that in the final phase of a scenario, we’ll be able to move our base to a safe world, and there will be only one world available after the merge.

This could actually make farming for formulas at Blackfell a little more busy than usual during that last phase!

You can now report vehicles

You know that army of vehicles that ends up blocking the entrance to Blackfell, and you have to go around the other way to get in? Well, from tomorrow you’ll be able to report vehicles that are blocking routes.

LEA Labs goes back to normal

Speed runners, me included, have been having a blast in LEA Labs of late, with our best team time sitting around the 8-minute mark. That’s only possible because there was a bug which heavily dropped Dr. Mannheim and the Mother of Life’s HP.

This is being fixed in the patch, so we’ll be back to the normal old slog, where a fifteen-minute time is highly respectable! This should also make LEA Labs more chaotic again, and more fun, too. đŸ˜‰

Public Crisis Events could be more challenging now!

Public events are very easy, no one will dispute that. Now, however, those public events will have a chance to transform into high-risk events. This means that the enemies we face will be tougher, and the rewards will also be greater.

Given that, at this point, even the Hard server is too easy, this could be a fun new challenge for players. But then I said the same thing about the Ancient One Trials, and that turned out to be nothing more than a balloon-shooting mini-game. So hey, I could be wrong.

New Cosmetics (again)

With the new patch comes new cosmetics, which has become normal now. Not that I’m complaining, the more cosmetics are added, the less chance we have of all looking the same. You can only run dungeons with so many teddy bears before you get bored of the look.

Firstly, there’s a new Battle Pass featuring what seems to be a vampire-themed cosmetics set. I won’t lie, it looks pretty cool and includes a new skin for the MPS7 and a new Cradle cosmetic.

The new Lightforge Loot Crates also contain a new Legendary fashion, a Cradle cosmetic, and another new weapon skin. This one seems to be Assassin or Ninja themed, don’t you think?

Finally, there will also be a few discounted items for a limited time, so be sure to check out the in-game store tomorrow if you’re interested in cosmetics.

Everything else

That concludes the TL:DR. There are some monster adjustments and other optimizations, as well as the usual bug fixes. If you’d like to see the full patch notes, check out Once Human’s Steam page here.

One final change players might be interested to know is that the special Morphic Crates (Void, Regen, etc) have been toned down to be slightly easier to handle. Not a change I wanted to see, since they were a refreshing challenge, but they will now attack less frequently and give players a better chance of survival.

Until the next Patch, I’ll see you around for the final phase of the first Hard Mode servers, dropping later this week.
