Nintendo’s North Bend, Washington production facility will produce respirator masks to help fight the COVID-19 outbreak. N95 Particulate Respirator masks are one of the most essential items to have to combat the illness. Unfortunately, plenty of healthcare workers and hospitals have limited resources. Now Nintendo is doing the most it can by sending these resources to North Bend’s Eastside Fire & Rescue department. A recent press release explains Nintendo actually already had the masks on hand as a result of an emergency preparedness plan the company had enacted some time ago, but they knew the masks would be better used elsewhere right now.

Coming together to fight COVID-19

Nintendo joins several other companies donating its resources and facilities to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Another organization helping out is Razer. As they continue to mass-produce respirator masks, the United States continues to report a growing number of cases.

As of March 24, there have been over 372,000 confirmed cases globally and 2,469 in Washington state. Gaming companies are offering a helping hand, whether they are charity streams or resource production.

In order to continue keeping employees and visitors safe, they have also announced the closure of their North American repair centers. Customers who have turned in their products for repair will have it returned back as un-deliverable.
