Overall Thoughts

Since the ratings above are the first batch, there isn’t too much I’m mad about. For the most part, I feel that the new player ratings are relatively accurate. With that said, I do have a couple of questions. The first is Marco Reus. For me, a rating of 85 is still far too high for Marco. He was a great talent five years ago, but he is a shell of his former self. Unfortunately, injuries have plagued him recently, and it’s a miracle if he plays 20 games. Personally, I think this rating and last year’s (85 and 86) are far too high. I know he’s an EA favourite, but 83 is a fair rating for Marco Reus.

The next question I have is regarding Arturo Vidal. Now it’s not his rating (85) that I have a problem with; it’s the downgrade he received within his stats. Vidal is known for being an engine on the field and leaving it all out there. So tell me how a guy of Vidal’s stature drops 18 points in pace. I think that was a little excessive. Yes, he is older and has suffered some injuries, but surely he’s better than 57 pace. A fair rating would be anywhere from 62-66.

For the most part, I feel EA did a good job with this batch of FIFA 19 player ratings. Most of them are the same from last year, and the upgrades they gave were fair. The only small tweak I would’ve made would be Milinković-Savić’s rating. He had an incredible season last year and is one of the best midfielders in the game, but 85 is a little high. For me, an 83 would’ve been a perfect rating for him. Other than that, I don’t have anything else to add.
