Earlier in the year, the Magic: The Gathering Arena ESL ANZ Championships were launched. Now, after a successful two-part series, Season 2 is launching. Again in partnership with ESL, Wizards of the Coast are taking Magic to the next level in the ANZ region. The MTG Arena ESL ANZ Champs Season 2 will start this November.
MTGA ESL ANZ Champs Season 2
The second Standard tournament will start on Nov. 20. This is an opportunity for Magic players in the Australia and New Zealand region to compete at a high level. The tournament will consist of four weekends of gameplay with finals in December. The top eight players will compete live on Dec. 19. Finals will be streamed on the ESL Australia Twitch channel.
Weekend stages will consist of a Swiss Stage. If a player wins on the Saturday, they will return on the Sunday. The top eight from each open qualifier will progress to the finals in a single-elimination bracket. Players will gain a set number of points depending on where they placed during the Sunday final. The top eight from all rounds combined will go through to the Champions stage.
Each open qualifier is run as a separate event where players can compete over any of the four weekends.

Similar to last season, there are a number of prizes up for grabs during the MTGA ESL ANZ Champs Season 2. The total prize pool is $2,500 AUD. There are also exclusive MTG uncut sheets and lots of gem codes to giveaway. Players can also win trading card game products from the upcoming Innistrad: Crimson Vow set.
