Formerly of OpTic Gaming’s Overwatch team, the Houston Outlaws, Mendo joins a stacked Team Liquid roster. Winning multiple weeks of the FACEIT Pro Series, Mendo’s addition should only make this roster even deadlier.

The current Team Liquid Apex Legends roster is as follows:

  • Gage “caliburn” Meyer
  • Thomas “Flanker” Cook
  • Brendan “Casper” Marino
  • Mendo

Mendo joins Team Liquid

It was only a matter of time before Mendo made his way to another team. With the fall of OpTic Gaming imminent, the Houston Outlaws will cease to exist shortly. Mendo’s time with the Outlaws was spent mainly focusing on content creation instead of playing Overwatch.

The Swedish streamer has always been one of the better PC players in the community. So, when Apex Legends released, he quickly made a name for himself with his stellar gameplay and vast knowledge of the game. He was once the world record holder for kills in one game (36).

Here’s what Team Liquid said about Mendo in their press release:

We’re very excited to help him continue to grow and help him flourish as a member of our family in Apex Legends. Mendo is a tremendously skilled player who has won numerous tournaments in Apex Legends… (he) has incredible game sense and his competitive drive is second to none while at the same time he manages to be an incredibly entertaining streamer.

However, while his gameplay was and still is top-tier, this wasn’t the only aspect of his content that allowed him to grow. Due to his aforementioned vast understanding of Apex, Mendo was able to find numerous bugs and glitches day after day. Viewers constantly tuned in to see what new exploit he had found, allowing him to flourish on Twitch and YouTube.

You can tune in tomorrow for Twitch Rivals to see Mendo don the Team Liquid colors for the first time competitively. It’s currently unknown how the Team Liquid professional roster will shake up with this player now in the mix.
