LCS Wrap-up Week 8 2022 LCS Summer Split Day 2

LCS Wrap-Up: Pool party vibes and heated up competition

It's drip or drown during the last week of the 2022 LCS summer split.

It’s the final week of the 2022 League of Legends Championship Series summer split and the last week of the season is known as superweek. This means that each team in the LCS will play three games over the course of an extended three-day weekend. And with the 10-team league fighting in the dog days of summer, the broadcast this weekend is Pool Party themed.

With a ton of memorable moments under the sun, and under the lights of the LCS Arena in sunny southern California, Upcomer is here to bring you a nice recap of each days’ events that transpired. Here is the LCS Wrap-up for Week 8 Day 2.

Player of the Day: FLY Johnsun

FlyQuest’s mid-laner Loïc “toucouille” Dubois might have been chosen as player of the game but there is no denying how sick Johnson “Johnsun” Nguyen ‘s pentakill was at the end of their match against Immortals Progressive to close out Day 2 of the three-day superweek at 2-0. The best part was that he didn’t even need Zeri to do it.

Most Memorable Moment: The LCS Pool Party

Viewership might be on the decline in the LCS so far in the 2022 LCS summer split but the broadcast is still doing their best to spice things up for the people that are still watching.

To celebrate the end of summer and the end of the summer split, the LCS had been doing a “Pool Party” takeover complete with summer beach attire for all the talent and a pool party aesthetic around the LCS studio. It’s been a blast watching the laid back atmosphere when the competition has been scorching hot.

Best Clip: Contractz getting revenge

Counter Logic Gaming has had a rough start to their superweek.

With hopes that the team would be able to capture a top-two seed for playoffs coming into the week, the team has, unfortunately, fell flat. But CLG’s jungler Juan “Contractz” Garciawas scheduled to be this week’s broadcast guest following in the footsteps as the previous players that have done the same in recent weeks.

But what made Contractz’ appearance memorable was the fact that before CLG’s game, each of the members of the analyst desk made predictions for the upcoming CLG versus 100 Thieves games. The person who made the most whack prediction would have to be thrown in the dunk tank.

“Raz” boldly said that CLG’s top laner “Dhokla” would pick a hyper carry like Fiora and would immediately lose the game to an early gank, similar to how CLG have lost games before in the split. Although CLG did lose the game, Dhokla was on Ornn and he did not lose to an early gank top. So naturally, Contractz was able to unleash some of his pent-up frustration after the loss by knocking down Raz in the dunk tank. After all, Contractz said he used to play baseball.

What’s next for the LCS Summer split

The final day of not only the Week 8 superweek, but the 2022 LCS Summer split concludes with play on Sunday, August 14. The 10 teams in the LCS will head back onto the rift for the last time in the regular season and decide which teams will be heading to the playoffs in what positions. Games kick off live on the LCS Twitch channel starting at 3:30 p.m ET.
