Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel has been out for almost a week now and, during its release, it has received a surplus of players and eyes on the game. With that said, there are still things missing in the game that many content creators have outlined in their reviews. This Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel maintenance may fix those issues.

This is the first time in the game’s early history that maintenance is happening. In many other games, maintenance refers to updates made to the game that include new content. However, this maintenance may simply include system updates to improve stability.

In the announcement, Konami said it is deleting room and match history data, and Secret Pack timers will continue to countdown during the maintenance. Outside of supposed system improvements, the maintenance could bring new features into the game.

In a datamine leak, there are unused files currently in the game that hint toward new events and formats. This includes five logos — for something to do with “Exhibition,” “Xyz,” “Fusion,” “Synchro” and “Classic” — and some background images. These may be referring to new formats in which players can only use cards from each summoning method. For instance, a “Synchro” format where players can only use Synchro monsters from the extra deck. Finally, Classic may be referring to old-school formats before any new extra deck monster appeared.
