Immortals announce return to VALORANT with all-women team

The roster will make their debut on Thursday

Immortals announced their return to VALORANT on Tuesday, signing a team of women based in the Great Lakes region of the United States. As a result, the organization will soon make a return to VALORANT competition for the first time since November of 2021.

“Immortals has found success within the Riot esports ecosystem with our professional teams in League of Legends and Wild Rift,” Immortals CEO Jordan Sherman said in a press release. “As we looked at expansion opportunities in Valorant, there was a clear opportunity for us to further our goals for our brand, company and gaming in the Great Lakes Region by hiring GLR-based coaches and players, hosting various Valorant events and experiences and helping to grow the game overall, both professionally and through amateur and grassroots initiatives.”

Immortals are now set to field the following roster at upcoming VALORANT events:

  • Sarah “Sarah” Simpson – initiator
  • Jennifer “Jen” Khamdaraphone – flex
  • Kaylen “Kay” Ruddel – in-game leader
  • Julia “Julia” Dias – duelist
  • Lydia “Tupperware” Wilson – controller
  • Keenan Akit – general manager and head coach

More about the new Immortals VALORANT roster

Immortals steadily lost or released all of their VALORANT players beginning in September of 2021. The team formally disbanded in January when FaZe Clan acquired Andrew “ShoT_UP” Orlowski. Shortly thereafter, former general manager and head coach Michael “Packing10” Szklanny left the organization.

Afterward, Immortals launched a “Search for the Roster” initiative in order to find their next set of VALORANT players. Their current all-women’s pro team was ultimately born as a result of that initiative.

The new roster will make their first tournament appearance at the Verizon VALORANT Champions Tour Game Changers Stage 1 Open Qualifier. This event will take place beginning on Thursday. Additionally, the team will sponsor a women’s VALORANT event for the University of Michigan Esports Club on April 15.
