Gaming peripheral company HyperX and the Collegiate StarLeague have announced a partnership for the 2019-2020 season. The Kingston Technology-owned brand will serve as the exclusive peripherals and internals sponsor as part of the deal, along with providing prizes for weekly and monthly Collegiate StarLeague events.
Partnership with HyperX
“HyperX continues to build its global presence and support for competitive gaming,” said Wim Stocks, CEO of WorldGaming & Collegiate StarLeague, in a release. “[We are] so thrilled to have them integrating for our collegiate/CSL leagues, and completely appreciate their passion and affiliations with our various collegiate gaming and esports initiatives.”
With this partnership, the peripherals brand will supply its equipment to over 60 events throughout the course of the season. This consists of on-campus LAN events, meetups, and the Fighting Game Collegiate Circuit. HyperX will also be the presenting sponsor for the 2020 Collegiate StarLeague Grand Finals. The top teams in each of the leagues will be flown out for this event in mid to late April. These collegiate teams will then compete in each respective title, from League of Legends to Rocket League, for a cut of the final prize pool, which is awarded in the form of a scholarship.
Collegiate StarLeague Grand Finals
The Grand Finals will take place at the HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas’ Luxor Hotel, which Allied Esports owns, but HyperX owns the naming rights to. The HyperX Esports Arena has 30,000 square ft of space and is considered one of the world’s biggest esports venues. The venue also features a 50’ LED video wall, broadcast center, production studio, luxury VIP lounges, vintage video game cocktail bar, and more.
This partnership with the Collegiate StarLeague joins others that include the NBA 2K League and PUBG Global Championship Grand Finals. HyperX has also partnered with esports organizations Excel Esports, DragonX, Cloud9, Natus Vincere, Team Liquid, Renegades, and LGD Gaming.
