The Six Major boasts a $500,000 prize pool

The Six Major, the culmination of Rainbow Six Siege Stage 2 competition, begins in Mexico City on Aug. 16. The tournament consists of the top four teams from all four regions of Stage 2 competition coming together on LAN once again.

The event boasts a $500,000 prize pool and big implication for team’s global standings in the race to the next International.

Six Major: Mexico Group Stage

The group stage kicks off on Aug. 16 and end on Aug. 18. The three days of competition will feature non-stop games from all four groups, streamed on the main and secondary Twitch channels. Broadcasts with other languages are also available.

No specific group will be shown on any one channel, so watching both channels will be necessary for fans who want to catch all the action or their favorite squad.

The group stage starts every day at 11 a.m. ET, with the final match of every day starting at 9:30 p.m. ET.

Playoffs and finals

The playoffs begin two days after the group stage on Aug. 20 and run through Aug. 21. The single-elimination bracket features a best-of-three format. The start times have not been announced.

The grand finals of the Six Major consist of a best-of-five match that starts on Aug. 22. More details on start times will come as the tournament moves along.

Twitch drops

The event also features drops for players to earn while watching the event on Twitch. Fans can link their accounts and earn individual cosmetic items. Th items up for drops are included in the Pro League Nomad, Pro League Castle, Esports Blitz and Esports Alibi sets. Duplicate drops are a possibility.

The Six Major runs from Aug. 16-22 and the winner will be crowned as the Six Major champion and the best squad of Stage 2.
