If you got excited after BlizzCon and went to download Overwatch 2, you may have noticed that you don’t have Competitive mode available. Here’s how to unlock ranked in Overwatch 2 so you can start grinding.
What is the Competitive Play challenge in Overwatch 2?
The Competitive Play challenge is a requirement that you must complete before you can play ranked. Basically, you’ll need to get a certain amount of Quick Play wins to get Competitive mode.
You will need to win 50 Quick Play matches to unlock ranked.
Has Competitive changed in Overwatch 2?
If you played the original Overwatch, you will see some differences when you access the mode in Overwatch 2. There is no longer a player level system so you don’t need to be level 25 to get Competitive. Instead, you need to complete the First Time User Experience or FTUE. This is a quest-based experience that teaches you about the maps, modes, and heroes in Overwatch 2.
Once you complete the FTUE you will need to win 50 Quick Play matches. Doing this helps the game get a good feel for your skill level and ensure that your matches feel balanced and fun.
