Updated gameplay highlights new Metroid

To start, as a remaster, there are multiple key quality-of-life changes in Metroid Prime Remastered. One of the biggest ones revolves around how you play the game since the original was for the GameCube. Due to that, there was a very old-fashioned movement system, with players not able to move and aim simultaneously.

Thanks to an earlier remake of Metroid Prime on the Nintendo Wii, a new control method was added: motion controls. This helped a lot and was the more common control method for that game unless fans wanted the true GameCube experience. Now, with this true remaster on the Nintendo Switch, we have another control method: dual analog. Players can use one analog stick to aim and the second to move. A common thing amongst FPS now, but for a remake, desperately needed.

How to switch control options in Metroid Prime Remastered

Switching between controls in Metroid Prime Remastered is relatively simple. First off, go to the Options menu. In that menu, there is a Controls tab, which houses all the control settings.

Inside, you can switch between four different control modes. The first is the modern Dual-Stick option, for that common dual analog feel. The second is the motion controls, the one made popular from the Wii remake. The third is the classic option, where you can only use one stick for both movement and aim. Lastly, you have the hybrid option, mixing in the first two options. This allows fans to still use motion controls but keeps the dual analog sticks on throughout.
