If you have made your way into the Emerald Grove or the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3, then you might have stumbled across the side quest titled “Find the Nightsong.” In this quest, you are tasked with hunting down the Nightsong, a poet who is located in the Underdark. In order to gain access to the Underdark and find the Nightsong in Baldur’s Gate 3, you need to solve a stone puzzle in the Defiled Temple.

This stone puzzle has four moving circles that have four smaller circles around them. Your job is to figure out how the smaller circles line up so you can open the door and access the Defiled Temple. Struggling? Here’s how to solve the puzzle so you can continue on your way in the Find the Nightsong quest.

For starters, your primary goal is to get all four of the smaller, black circles on the same large circle. More specifically, you need all of the black circles to be on the bottom large circle.

To do this, you need to continually move the large circles until all four of the black circles have been shifted properly. If you haven’t touched the circles at all yet, then you can look below for the exact steps to get this result:

  • Move the the top circle one time
  • Move the left circle three times
  • Move the bottom circle one time
  • Move the left circle two times
  • Move the right circle two times
  • Move the bottom circle one time
  • Move the right circle two times
