How to beat Arachsiam on Hard or Pro mode in Once Human

Ah, the Spider. Such a… “fun” fight, isn’t it? If you’re not getting webbed in the face, you’re being chomped on from behind by little spiders, but eventually you get down to beating Arachsiam. Thank goodness you never have to do that again.

And then you decide to look for Bullseye or Fast Gunner mods and… yeah, you need go back to that spider. Only now, Arachsiam casts a powerful poison during immunity phases, and you just can’t seem to beat it.

I’ll show you how to beat Arachsiam in Once Human, even if you’re playing solo. Let’s go!

Prepare for the fight

First thing’s first, you’re not going to beat Arachsiam without a proper build. I highly recommend the Power Surge build, which is currently one of my favorites (yes, I have an Unstable Bomber build, but I really don’t like pistols).

The Shrapnel build will also get you through this fight, even after the Nerf. Anyway, proper build? Check.

Do not enter this fight without Long-acting Activators. If you can afford to, build the Quick Long-acting Activators or you’ll most likely still die. This fight is tough, and it’s all because of the poison. Another bright idea is to bring along some Canned Meat or Canned Lunch Meat, but make sure you use goat meat to make it. That way, you’ll get a little bit of health regen.

Finally, don’t bring your Lonewolf or Polar Jelly in here, get your best Festering Gel out, which can be obtained from the Ravenous Hunter boss fight. This will give you that little bit of extra heal that could carry you through the fight.

Finally, bring some Wheat Beer or Corn Ale, or eat a Sanity gummy the second you enter the fight. Just make sure you start with a full 100% HP. And now you’re ready.

Head forward and up the stairs to your, and head towards the end of the hall. That all-too-familiar cut scene will play (I love this one, hope we get more creepy stuff like this in the new scenario!)

Now start attacking the spider. Don’t try to use the pillar as cover. If you do get yourself caught on it after she webs you, there’s nothing you can do but die. That’s what happened here in my first play through.

Definitely take care of the additional enemies as they spawn. Those dog monsters (ghouls, I believe) can really ruin your day. Just get them out of the way.

Once they’re down, keep attacking Arachsiam until she gains immunity, and get those Quick Long-acting Activators ready, because here’s the hard part.

What to do when Arachsiam is Immune

Firstly, be on your guard here. Sometimes Arachsiam will jump up onto her pillar immediately, other times she’ll just keep attacking you multiple times before doing what she’s supposed to. Be ready to dodge those attacks.

Once she does jump onto the pillar, the room will fill with damaging poison. At half-health, pop one of those activators, and keep them coming.

You’ll need to destroy six to seven total eggs, and they generally spawn on the walls of the arena (mostly east and south). Sometimes they’ll even spawn in the middle of the arena somewhere, so keep a lookout for the glow of the eggs.

Once you’ve destroyed all the eggs, shoot at Arachsiam and knock her off the pillar. This will stop the poison mist and she’ll fall onto her back. You can score some free damage here, and this is where I usually drop the Festering Gel and lay down fire.

You’ll need to deal with two immunity periods, after which you can finally finish this annoying fight. Do remember to always clear the additional mob spawns first in each phase.

And that’s really all there is to it. Victory is ours.

Next up is the hound, and if you need some help, here’s how to beat Shadow Hound in Once Human, even solo.
