Wyrdeer, Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ new evolution of Stantler, is introduced in the game as a Pokémon that Hisuians value highly. It gives you its tacit approval early on in the game, leading members of the Galaxy Corps to trust you. Wyrdeer can later be ridden as a mount to help you traverse the Hisui region. Here’s how to unlock Wyrdeer as a mount.
How do you ride Wyrdeer in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?
To get Wyrdeer as a mount, you have to first unlock the second area of the Obsidian Fieldlands. To do this, you must obtain the first Star Rating in the Galaxy Corps in order to cross a bridge usually gated off by an NPC. After this, you can cross the bridge into the Deertrack Path and up to the Deertrack Heights.
There, you must help Mai, Wyrdeer’s warden, defeat an Alpha Kricketune. After defeating Kricketune, Wyrdeer gives you its approval and the Galaxy Corps establish a base camp on Deertrack Heights, nicknamed “Heights Camp.”
From there you must progress the story further before you can ride Wyrdeer. You begin the journey to tracking down Kleavor, the new evolution of Scizor who has been terrorizing the woods. When Mai and Diamond Clan leader Adaman find out you’re trying to protect Hisui by defeating Kleavor, they tell you that Wyrdeer has deemed you worthy and give you a Celestial Flute. The Celestial Flute allows you to play a tune that will summon Wyrdeer as a mount.
Once you unlock this, you can then press the + button on your right Joy Con to summon Wyrdeer as a mount whenever you like. Press the + button again to dismiss Wyrdeer and return to running around on your own two feet.
