How to restore licences on PS5 for Elden Ring DLC

Your new DLC isn't working! But restoring licences for you PS5 might help...

If you’re experiencing issues playing the latest DLC due to a licence error, we’ve got you covered. We’d hate for all that excitement to be burned up by licence issues (common when you’ve switched from a PS4 to a PS5 – lucky you!).

When you should restore licences on your PS5

There are various reasons you might want to try restore licences. The first and most obvious, your DLC isn’t working properly. It might have a padlock icon, it’s crashing, or you can’t actually locate the base game or the DLC on your PlayStation library.

If you can’t make a purchase on the Playstation™ store, then you can also try restoring licences. Here’s how to do it.

How to restore licences on your PS5

It’s quite simple, thankfully. Just go into your Settings, then Users and Accounts, select Other, and then choose Restore Licences. Hopefully, that should work and get you playing in no time. If that doesn’t work, however, there are some other things you can do.

What to do if Restore Licences doesn’t Work

If you tried restoring your licences and it didn’t work, you can try activating console sharing and offline play on your PS5. You can do this by again going to Settings, Users and Accounts, Other, and then this time, choose Console Sharing and Offline Play.

Simply enable it from here and try again. If this doesn’t work, restore licences again. And if THAT doesn’t work, you may have a pretty serious issue.

At this point, you may have to contact Playstation™ support. Good luck with that, and I really hope you get to play the DLC soon!
