How to open the red chests in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Opening them will take time

There are several different objects and parts of maps in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor that cannot be accessed until you progress in the game. Certain movement capabilities and other abilities do not get unlocked for you in the early parts of the story. This means you’ll have to do a lot of backtracking if you want to unlock every Survivor has to offer.

One of the prime examples of this is the red chests, which cannot be opened until you reach close to the end of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

The red chests look like an ordinary chest in the game, but they have an antenna on top of them. If you try and slice open the chest, Cal will state that it can’t be opened yet. If you want to see exactly how to open these red chests in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, keep reading the guide below.

The only way to get inside the red chests is to stock them open. Anytime you see a red chest, you will also find a blue spark inside of a tube somewhere nearby. This blue spark can be shocked by BD-1 once you unlock the droid’s electric dart ability. You will not gain access to this ability until you are around 15-20 hours through Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Once you do have the electric dart for BD-1, all you need to do is find the blue spark associated with the red chest you’re trying to open. Then, simply fire a dart at the spark using BD-1’s visor, and the red chest will be unlocked. It’s tough to find the blue spark in some locations, but they’re never too far from the red chest. You can sometimes follow the red tube that comes out from the blue spark, as seen in the screenshot above.

Every planet and location you visit in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has a few of these red chests, so if you want to 100% Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you will need to backtrack to find them all once you unlock the electric dart ability.
