How to make more Energy Links in Once Human

If you, like me, started to run out of Energy Links in Once Human, you’ll probably know that selling harvested goods isn’t all that profitable. I set my mind to it and figured out how to make a lot more Energy Links in Once Human — so you don’t have to.

Here are two great ways to make more Energy Links (or money) in Once Human.

Commissions are great for making some early Energy Links. To accept and complete commissions, head to the vendor in any town that has the clipboard icon above their head.

Here, you’ll be able to accept up to 5 commissions at a time. Week one commissions pay about 1,300 Energy Links each, and Week two commissions pay 4200 Energy Links each, so it’s a great way to make some money in Once Human.

Once all your commissions are complete, you can also do quests around the world for relatively small amounts. However, that all changes once you reach level 25.

You should know all about Memetic Specializations, but in case you don’t, hit O (in-game), and then click on the golden icon on the top-left of your screen. Here, you can select special traits for your character, and this is how you can make plenty of Energy Links very fast.

Once you hit level 25, you’ll have a chance to choose the Combo Chipset specialization if you’re lucky. It does show up at random, but if you don’t get it you can always re-roll it. However, you have limited re-rolls per season, so use them qisely.

Anyway, this specialization allows you to craft an item out of junk parts that sells for 12,000 Energy Links each! And you can make 5 of them at a time. But don’t use all of your electronic parts on these, since you’ll need them for other things, such as power generation in Once Human.

Only make and sell them when you need to. To make them, head to your supplies workbench and click on their recipe.

Craft however many you need — they take 1 minute each to make — and when they’re done, head to a safe zone and find a standard shop keeper. Navigate to the sell tab, and then unload your Combo Chipsets.

Well done, you’re rich. You can almost buy anything you want now. But you are limited on the number of Energy Links you can make like this.

Can’t Sell Items to the shop keeper in Once Human

If you run into this issue, check on the bottom right of your screen. Each shop keeper in Once Human has a sell limit. If you exceed this number, the shop can’t buy any more of your items.

However, if you’re selling Combo Chipsets, you can teleport to any town and go sell it elsewhere, and still make a massive profit. As you may know, teleporting to towns costs some Energy Link, but it’s nowhere near the 12k value of the Combo Chipset.

And that’s my secret to being stinking rich in Once Human, at least in Energy Links. I’ve also done other guides and a bunch of location exploration guides which you can check out in our Once Human archives.

Keep enjoying the game, and maybe I’ll see you around before the Starfall gets us!
