How to make a lead in Minecraft

Leads can be super useful items, and they make it easy to start animal farms, move animals, or even make balloons. So if you’re wondering how to make a lead in Minecraft, you’re in the right place – let’s check the recipe and where you can find the items you’ll need.

To make a lead in Minecraft, you’ll need to copy the recipe shown above. You’ll need four pieces of string and one slime ball. Place one piece of string in the top-left corner of your crafting table, and then place another piece of string next to and below this first one.

Next, place a slime ball in the center of your crafting table, and another piece of string in the bottom right corner. That should make you a lead. But where will you find string and slime balls? Let’s take a look.

The easiest way to find Slime Balls in Minecraft is by heading to a swamp and finding Slimes to fight. When you kill the small slimes, there’s a chance you could get slime balls. They often drop in pairs, and you can easily get a whole bunch of them quickly.

There’s also a chance of finding Slime Balls in loot chests all over the place, but that’s not the most dependable way to get your hands on them. Slime hunting is by far the easiest.

Where to find String in Minecraft

You can get String in Minecraft from various places. The easiest way to get them is from spiders. Just wait until it gets dark, and then go spider hunting. You could also spend the night mining underground, and in the day-time the spiders won’t burn up, so you can go hunting in relative safety — just beware of the creepers!

You can also find string from breaking cobwebs, if you can find them. The fastest way to get the string from them is to break the cobweb with water, but you can also use your sword.

You’ll also find string in loot chests just about everywhere, especially in Jungle Temples and Desert Pyramids.

Finally, you can also get them from cats as gifts, or by buying them from some villagers. If you find a tripwire, that can also be broken to get string.

And that’s it. String can be hard to collect, but keep at it and you’ll have plenty real soon. Before you go, do you know the best way to get Diamonds in Minecraft? I think the strip mining method is great for getting plenty, even though it takes some time.
