Everything to know about the most valuable of the mystical herbs

However, these special items also have a use outside of Arven’s plot line, making them useful for players to hunt on their own time as well. Here’s an overview of the effects of the Salty Herba Mystica and how players can find it in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The Salty Herba Mystica is one of five types of Herba Mysticas introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. There are also Sweet, Bitter, Sour and Spicy variants. During the main story, players will first encounter these herbs after fighting each of the five Titan Pokémon.

Trainers will primarily use these herbs as ingredients for making sandwiches. In particular, Salty Herba Mysticas are the most important as they appear in all of the best shiny sandwich recipes for the games. As a result, anyone interested in shiny hunting Pokémon of any type may find it worth their time to seek out some Salty Herba Mysticas first.

Players are first introduced to the Salty Herba Mystica in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet after defeating the Lurking Steel Titan, Orthworm, and obtaining the Steel Badge. In the cutscene that follows, Arven makes a sandwich using the herb, which the player’s Koraidon or Miraidon then proceeds to eat. Afterward, the Legendary Paradox Pokémon gains the ability to high jump.

However, players cannot return to the Titan Orthworm’s den again, meaning they don’t actually get to keep any of the Salty Herba Mystica for their personal use. To obtain multiple Herba Mysticas for their own use, players must receive them as drops after five-star or six-star Tera Raid Battles.

In order to unlock five-star Tera Raid Battles, players must finish the game by completing all three main storylines and the final The Way Home story. From there, trainers can defeat all eight Gym Leaders in rematches and take on the Academy Ace Tournament. Upon completing these missions, players will unlock six-star Tera Raid Battles.

According to Serebii, players can acquire Salty Herba Mysticas after competing Tera Raid Battles against the following Pokémon:
