How to get Moon Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

A guick guide on how to obtain Moon Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Just like every other Pokémon game, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet feature unique ways to evolve Pokémon. Not every Pokémon can evolve by just leveling it up. Some Pokémon need special items called stones to evolve. One of the stones that players may need to evolve their Pokémon is a Moon Stone. The Moon Stone is used to evolve Jigglypuff into Wigglytuff in the new games. These Moon Stones exist in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and there are a couple of different ways to get them. Here is a quick guide on how to get Moon Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Moon Stone Locations

Like almost every other item, Moon Stones have set locations in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. There seems to be only one location where players can get a guaranteed Moon Stone in the game. If players make their way to area three of the South Province, there they will find a tree with some thick grass around it — the Moon Stone is right under the tree. To get here, fly to the Pokémon Center located in the area and simply follow the path going north. Off to the right along the path is a tree that players can access by simply jumping off the cliff they are on with their Koraidon (or Miraidon, depending on which version of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet they’re playing).

If players can’t make their way to the above locations — or they just need more Moon Stones — they could randomly be available at the auction house in Porto Marinada, a town in the West Province. Players will have to cross the Asado Desert to gain access to Porto Marinada, but once players progress through this point in the game, they can easily fly back to the area any time after. Porto Marinada is also part of the Cascarrafa Gym Test, so players will eventually be guaranteed access to the city. To check if Moon Stones are at the auction house, periodically check back to see if they are in stock.
