Another Hisuian newcomer joins the Pokémon GO roster

Since the launch of Pokémon Legends: Arceus in January of 2022, several monsters that debuted in the Hisui region have made their way to the hit mobile game Pokémon GO. Up until now, the list has included Overqwil, Sneasler, Ursaluna and several Hisuian regional variants of existing Pokémon.

Now, another new Hisuian beast is joining the line-up: the Bug/Rock-type Kleavor, which is one of the possible evolutions of the Bug/Flying-type Scyther, along with the Bug/Steel-type Scizor. Here’s everything to know about how you can get a Kleavor in Pokémon GO.

How to get Kleavor in Pokémon GO

Kleavor will make its debut in Pokémon GO during a special event known as Kleavor Raid Day. This Raid Day event will take place on Saturday, May 6. No matter what time zone you live in, the Kleavor Raid Day will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in your local time.

During this three-hour period of time, Kleavor will become available in the game for the first time and will be particularly common in three-star Raid Battles. As a result, players should have plenty of opportunities to challenge and successfully defeat a Kleavor in a Raid. Upon conquering the Axe Pokémon in a Raid, trainers will then be given the opportunity to catch it.

The more Raids you complete, the more Kleavor you can catch. This means you can collect more Candies and power up the Kleavor of your choosing to make it even stronger. Notably, Kleavor will also have increased shiny odds during these Raids. As a result, there’s a decent chance that you will walk away with a shiny Hisuian Pokémon that you can train up and use during in-game battles.

Can you evolve Scyther into Kleavor?

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Scyther would evolve into Kleavor whenever it was exposed to an item known as the Black Augurite. However, no such item exists in Pokémon GO, nor has an alternative evolution method been established.

For the time being, Scyther cannot evolve into Kleavor in Pokémon GO. The only way to obtain Kleavor in the mobile game is through the Kleavor Raid Day event. So, if you have a Scyther that you are looking to evolve, there’s no need to wait for the event so you can evolve into Kleavor. Instead, you could give it 50 Candies and a Metal Coat to make it evolve into Scizor.

During the Kleavor Raid Day and for two hours after the event ends, you can get up to five extra daily Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs. In addition, the limit for Remote Raid Passes will temporarily increase around the time of this event.

You’ll be able to secure up to 10 Remote Raid Passes from midnight to 11:59 p.m. in your local time on May 6, giving you the entire day to participate in extra Raids without leaving your home.
