Dragapult is the newest pseudo-legendary Pokémon in the franchise. It is extremely powerful and has been a top pick in competitive play since Pokémon Sword and Shield first came out. Here’s how to get this rare Dragon/Ghost-type Pokémon.
How to get Dragapult
Dragapult does not appear in the wild, but the Pokémon that evolve into it do. Dreepy evolves into Drakloak, who then evolves into Dragapult. Dreepy and Drakloak both appear in the Lake of Outrage in the Wild Area. You can reach this area once you have the bike upgrade that allows you to ride on water.
Dreepy and Drakloak have a two percent spawn rate in Thunderstorm or Fog weather conditions. Dreepy will only appear as a random encounter, but Drakloak will appear in the overworld. They also appear like this at a one percent spawn rate in Overcast weather. Drakloak has a one percent chance of spawning in the rain in the overworld as well.
Once you have a Dreepy or a Drakloak, you just need to evolve it to get Dragapult. Dreepy evolves at level 50, and Drakloak at level 60. If you plan to use it competitively, however, you will need to make sure it has the proper nature, ability, and Individual Values (IVs).
All three of these Pokémon will spawn in Max Raid Battles in certain Ghost and Dragon Raid Dens. They can be found in the Wild Area or by joining the Y-COMM and joining someone else’s Max Raid Battle.
If you’re really struggling to get Dragapult, you can try your luck in a Surprise trade. It’s a very popular Pokémon, and many players are breeding it and trading away the rejects. There are also plenty of Discord servers and subreddits dedicated to trading.
Dragapult is easily one of the strongest Pokémon in Sword and Shield. Be sure to give it a try!
