Th early access period has started for Diablo 4 and thousands of players are rushing into the game to start their adventure in Sanctuary. While the game servers have generally been good at keeping players out of queues and from seeing error messages, there have been some instances where players are unable to login. Over the first weekend of Diablo 4, one of the main issues players are facing is seeing a screen that says “Start Game Pending.”
Fixin gthe ‘Start Game Pending’ issue in Diablo 4
The full message that players see is “Queued for Game – Start Game Pending,” followed by an icon with a red circle going around and around. Usually, when this screen appears, players can get into the game within a few seconds. This is often the screen that players want to see, as it means they are out of their queue and about to get into Diablo 4. However, I am sad to report that I personally stared at this screen for over 45 minutes before getting into the game.
There is little that I or any other player was able to do when this message appeared on the screen. Even restarting the game and pressing the red “Cancel” button on screen didn’t change my fortune. All that kept happening was the red circle kept going around. Sometimes, I was thrown into a queue first and then the Start Game Pending message would appear. Of course, this didn’t fix the problem, it just meant I was still going to be waiting.
So, unfortunately, there doesn’t appear like there’s anything players can do to get rid of this message in Diablo 4. We just have to patiently wait for Blizzard to fix the servers and allow players to get back into the game. We will update this article with any new information if it comes along.
