One of the new weapons in Season 1 of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 is the M13B. However, unlike the other two weapons, the BAS-P and Victus XMR, the M13B is not unlocked through the Season 1 Battle Pass. Instead, players will need to complete an in-game challenge.

The twist is that the challenge is not in MW2 or Warzone 2. Instead, it lies within DMZ, the newest game mode in the Call of Duty franchise. The challenge requires players to find and kill The Chemist in DMZ and then exfil with the M13B in their inventory.

DMZ is an extraction-based game mode where players try to collect as much loot as possible in a match and then exfil the map successfully. It’s a high-risk, high-reward type of mode that players could find very enjoyable if they decide to spend time sinking their teeth into it. It was originally thought that DMZ would be a separate mode from multiplayer and Warzone 2. In many ways it is, but Activision has also decided to add some incentives in DMZ. This currently comes in the form of the M13B, as the assault rifle can currently only be unlocked through playing the mode.

Find The Chemist in DMZ

The exact challenge to unlock the M13B is as follows: “Defeat The Chemist in the Radiation Zone of DMZ and extract his dropped weapon.” The dropped weapon is the M13B.

If players load up a match of DMZ, they can find the Radiation Zone fairly easily. It’s the part of the map that’s covered in gas. This area of the map is marked by a yellow circle with a pink hazard sign in the middle of it on the mini-map. Players will need a gas mask to survive it.

Inside the Radiation Zone, players are looking for an NPC that’s wearing a yellow radiation suit. This NPC is The Chemist. Players need to defeat this NPC, ideally with a strong weapon, and then loot the weapon The Chemist drops. This weapon is the M13B, and it will have a yellow-colored camo on it. YouTuber JGOD posted a short video showing players exactly what they’re looking for.

Once all of that is done, players then need to book it out of the Radiation Zone to the nearest exfil point. Remember, if you die with the M13B in your inventory, you won’t unlock it. Instead, you’ll have to repeat the process all over again until you can exfil successfully.

If you do manage to exfil, then the M13B will be permanently unlocked for you in MW2 and Warzone 2.
