Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is now live for all players, and there’s a slew of new content to go through and unlock, including the M13B assault rifle. Previously, it was thought that the M13B would be arriving in a future update and wouldn’t be available at Season 1’s launch. However, players can currently unlock the M13B through one specific method in both MW2 and the new Warzone. However, this method actually doesn’t involve either one of those games.
Instead, players will need to play DMZ, the newest game mode that’s been added to Call of Duty. This mode is an extraction-based game mode that sees players drop onto a cut-down version of Al Mazrah. Players will attempt to loot as much as possible, defeat AI and player enemies, and complete missions before exfilling out of the map. If players exfil successfully, they will keep all of the loot they brought in and earned through the match. However, if they die, they will lose most or all of their loot.
We’ll explain how players can unlock the M13B through DMZ in the guide below.
Unlocking the M13B in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2
In order to unlock the M13B, players need to complete one specific task in DMZ. As the game states, players need to defeat the Chemist in the Radiation Zone of DMZ and extract his dropped weapon. As of right now, it’s unclear where the Chemist is, so we can’t provide details on where to find the M13B in DMZ. However, if players do find the Chemist, they should know that only the player that extracts with the M13B in their inventory gets to keep the weapon unlocked. Other players in the squad will not unlock the M13B even if their teammate extracted with it.
If players don’t want to play DMZ, they can wait for a future Store Bundle to release that contains the M13B. There’s no release date for this bundle, but it will likely arrive around or with Season 1 Reloaded in mid-December. Other than that, there’s no additional way to unlock the M13B in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.
