The Week 5 Epic and Legendary Quests are now live in Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 7 and players have another chance to earn some much-needed Battle Pass XP. Of course, players will encounter some speedbumps along the way when trying to complete certain challenges. From placing welcome gifts to finding CB Radios, the Week 5 tasks aren’t so easy. Another tough task for players will be damaging IO Guards across the Fortnite island.
The IO Guards were a presence on the Fortnite map in Season 6 and have returned in Season 7. However, some players still aren’t sure where to find them, making this Week 5 challenge more difficult than it should be. Luckily, there are defined spawn locations for the NPCs.
Damaging and finding IO Guard spawn in Fortnite
As of Week 5 in Season 7, there are 10 total spawn locations for the IO Guards in Fortnite. Aside from their general location, one easy way to tell if an IO Guard is near is whether a UFO is around. The guards traditionally spawn close to the drivable alien crafts.
For the Week 5 Epic Quest, players must find IO Guards and put a total of 250 damage into them. This means that players will need to land somewhere prior to finding a guard so that they can equip a weapon. After that, they can hunt for the guards in their specified locations. Below, players can see all 10 of those locations on the Fortnite map.
Once players find one IO Guard, they need to effectively eliminate them. The guards have a total of 250 health and shield, which is the exact amount of damage needed to complete the Week 5 challenge. Once the task is complete, 30,000 XP will be awarded to the player’s Season 7 Battle Pass.
