How to evolve Bisharp in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

A new evolution in Paldea

Bisharp was originally introduced in Generation V, and was considered quite a strong Pokémon in the Black and White games. Over time, Bisharp remained a strong Pokémon, and many fans thought Bisharp was not going to be a candidate for a third evolution. However, Game Freak surprised everyone when Scarlet and Violet introduced Kingambit, a third and final evolution for the Pawniard line.

Now, fans are asking how to evolve Bisharp into this incredibly strong Dark and Steel-type Pokémon.

Like its former evolutions, Kingambit keeps the dual typing of Dark and Steel. While you won’t want to go up against a Fighting or Fairy-type using this line, Kingambit is a terrific Pokémon to travel Paldea with. However, you might have to wait a while to use it, as Pawniard and Bisharp’s evolution methods are quite difficult to achieve.

For starters, you can evolve Pawniard into Bisharp by raising Pawniard to level 52. That’s quite a high level for an evolution, which is why many fans didn’t think Bisharp would receive an evolution after it.

Of course, we now know that Kingambit is in Scarlet and Violet. In order to evolve Bisharp into this new Scarlet and Violet Pokémon, you will need to acquire a Leader’s Crest. To get this item, you need to find a group of wild Pawniard that is headed up by a Bisharp. Essentially, you need to find a single Bisharp surrounded by Pawniard. Catch this Bisharp and it will be holding the Leader’s Crest.

Take the Leader’s Crest and give it to the Bisharp you want to evolve. Then, you need to find three other wild Bisharp and defeat them using the Bisharp holding the Leader’s Crest. Once this is done, your Bisharp will evolve into Kingambit. You can find a flurry of wild Bisharp outside of the Fighting-type Team Star Leader’s base. They are around level 50, though, so be prepared.
