Crosshair customization is just one of the many features in Riot Games’ new first-person shooter Valorant. Those who have connected their Riot accounts to their Twitch received the opportunity to obtain a beta key. The keys can be earned by watching certain Valorant streams that have drops enabled.
Once you’ve achieved access to one of these elusive beta keys, you’ll be brought to a brief tutorial on how everything works. After you’ve completed the tutorial, the game will boot you to the main menu screen, as shown below. This is where you’ll access the store, lobbies, and most importantly, the settings.
In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, you’ll find a white box that looks like the Valorant symbol. You should see three tabs appear below the title which includes: settings, support, and the about tab.
Changing your crosshair color
Upon opening the settings, you’ll be taken to another screen that has several options regarding the settings. Here, we’re looking at the crosshair customization tab located in the middle.
Above the settings, you should see an image and a crosshair in the middle of it. This is your example of what exactly your crosshair will look like in-game. As a result, you don’t have to get into a game just to see if your settings are how you like them.
The first setting allows you to change the color of your crosshair. By default, the crosshair color has been set to white. As you change the color, the image above the settings will turn to whatever color you’ve chosen. The list of available crosshair colors is as follows: white, green, yellow-green, green-yellow, yellow, cyan, pink, and red.
Customizing further
Below the crosshair color is the outline settings. Here the game allows you to change the opacity and thickness, as well as toggle the outline. Play around with these settings in order to see what fits you best.
After the outline settings, you’ll find the dot settings. This feature allows you to change the opacity and thickness of the dot, too. And if you’d prefer to have no dot in the center at all, you can turn it off.
Lastly, at the very bottom, you’ll see the setting to ‘fade crosshair with firing error’. When turned on, this setting widens your crosshair as you shoot. Switching it off will keep your crosshair at the default size.
