One of the best things about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is the absolute freedom players have. Whether it be the freedom to explore the map whenever or the freedom to pick and choose what quests to complete, the game has unparalleled customization when it comes to playing the game.

Players can truly make their game experience unique. And it’s not just when it comes to choosing which gym to take on next. Of course, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have incredible character customization too. While there are many places players can buy new clothes, putting them on is a whole different question.

Here is a quick guide explaining how to change your outfit and hairstyle in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

When it comes to changing outfits, customization is luckily quite easy.

Players can change their outfits anytime in the game by hitting the left button on the controller’s D-pad. This will bring up a menu letting players change their outfits in any way they want by using clothing items that they have purchased from the various shops around the Paldea region. Players can also change their default school uniform here too as there are four different default uniforms to choose from. One for each of the four seasons:

  • Spring
  • Summer
  • Fall
  • Winter

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet hairstyle salon outfit how to change

The only thing players cant do appearance-wise through the menu is change their hairstyle. To change hairstyle, players have to hit up a salon. There is one salon that players will have access to at the start of the game. It’s in the academy area. Other salons are in major cities. Players will know which building the salon is by looking for the spinning red, white, and blue barber pole outside the door.

Once inside, trainers will be able to go up to the cashier and from there they can change their hairstyles to any of the different pre-set styles provided. Doing this does cost money at 3,000 Pokédollars a pop but there are no limits to how many times players can change their appearance.
