How to beat the Treant’s Doppleganger in Once Human (Abandoned Hideout Boss)

The Treant’s Doppleganger is a pretty tough boss, but he can be really easy to beat with the right strategy. Let’s go over what gear to bring and the basic strategy you’ll use to easily beat this guy, and if you follow this guide, you won’t have to use an adrenaline shot like I had to.

Bring a sniper rifle. It’s a high-damage weapon that can take down pretty much any enemy quickly, and I recommend always carrying one with you. My personal favorite loadout so far is a sniper rifle and an assault rifle.

Obviously bring your best armor along, at least a full set of Raid gear, and a bunch of healing items. Activators are perfectly fine.

It’s easy, trust me, but not if you do what I did first — so here’s what not to do. Don’t go to the high ground, stay on the same level as the boss. There’s little to no cover on the high ground, and the boss will very quickly melt you down with its beam attack.

Next, find a rock. You’ll need to hide behind something solid while the boss uses his beam attack, and there’s a handy rock not far from where you start the fight. Use it.

Finally, understand the boss attacks. He has a few different attacks…

  • He hits the ground, sending out a shockwave. Try to jump over this shockwave. There’s also a variation of this arrack where he hits the ground twice in quick succession. Be ready.
  • He sends orbs flying in your direction. Try to destroy these before they hit you.
  • He has that awful beam attack, which will melt your health down very fast. Use the rock as cover from this.

Other than that, just keep hitting him between the horns and you should be able to melt him down. If you get hit and your health drops to below 2/3, use an activator. Don’t hesitate, as there’s a recharge time and his attacks can melt your hp pretty fast.

Follow this strategy, and you’ll crush him first-try. Good luck!
