How to beat the Treant in Once Human on Hard or Pro mode

The Treant can be a pretty tough boss to face, especially if you’re playing solo. The normal mode fight isn’t too bad, since he does less damage and with a fairly decent build, you’ll be able to take him out.

The higher difficulty modes can be more challenging, since those lightning attacks will one-shot you. So here’s how to beat the Treant boss in Once Human on Hard or Pro mode, even if you’re playing solo.

Prepare for the fight

The first thing you’ll need to make the Treant boss fight a breeze is a decent built. I highly recommend the Power Surge Build, since it’s easy to put together and you can do some great damage even with level one blueprints. You could also opt for the Shrapnel build, or any other build with decent damage per second (DPS).

The next thing to do is bring come activators along for the fight. If you don’t have any, you can easily craft activators at your Supplies workbench if you have Detoxident, Glass, Rubber, Acid and Purified or Boiler Water.

You should probably bring enough ammo, too. And by that, I mean bring more than you need — you never know what might go wrong.

Now it’s time for the fight. Head over to the Gaia Cliff Monolith in Broken Delta (4453,-5974) and make your way to the Rift Space. Make sure to change your difficulty and then head inside. Skip these first monsters, just run past them and use the booster to jump up.

Now you’ll get the cut scene. After that, you’ll need to take out the three tentacles located around the map. There’s one to your right on the broken highway behind a bus.

There’s another one across the arena from you (it’s quite far). You’ll be able to see it if you look directly above the Treant’s head.

The last tentacle is to your left on a small cliff, and it’s quite close to you.

If you do want to take out the Elite enemies for their drops, there’s a Glutton, a Disciple, and a Star Walker, though I must warn you, they’re quite tough. If you’re only after the mods that the Treant boss fight offers, leave the Elites alone.

Attack the Treant, but avoid his attacks

The Treant will shake himself like a wet dog at some point, releasing orbs that’ll hunt you down. These orbs aren’t anything to worry about, it’s what happens next. He’ll roar, and then lightning bolts will strike at you.

If you get hit by just one of these, you’re done. So it’s best to just keep moving and forget about dealing damage until the bolts stop, then you can deal some more damage.

If you keep getting hit by the bolts, you can always go hide under the bridge to your right, but you’ll have some additional mobs to deal with if you do.

Burst him down from there, and you should get the victory pretty easily.

The Treant is not a very difficult boss fight, but if you’re looking to beat the spider, that’s a totally different story. You’ll need to be well-prepared for that one. Luckily, I have a guide. Here’s how to beat the Arachsiam boss on Hard or Pro mode in Once Human.
