How to beat LEA Labs (in under 20 minutes) – Once Human

When LEA Labs first came out, it was a pain to complete. Now that we’re all a little stronger, it’s… still a pain. Especially when you’re going for the sub 20 minute run. But as long as your team understands the mechanics and everyone knows their role, it’s actually pretty easy.

So, to start off, let’s go over all the mechanics you’ll find in LEA Labs.

How LEA Labs Mechanics work

The first room you’ll encounter in LEA Labs explains the mechanics pretty well. All you have to do to beat it is stand by the red tank (inside the circle) and deal the last blow to the flame Glutton (he has red around him, you’ll know).

The same goes for the other Gluttons, which are blue and must be killed by the blue tank.

And that’s it. You don’t need to all be in one circle – only the person dealing the final blow needs to be inside the circle. Anyone not in the circle should stop shooting as the Glutton’s health drops.

However, there’s a twist here. In the final room, you’ll also encounter the lightning tank, which looks different to the frost tank. Here they are, side-by-side, to give you an idea.

Despite looking totally different here, this is what trips up a lot of attempts, since the lightning variant is only seen in the last room, and it confuses a lot of people. We see blue, we shoot blue Gluttons — so do pay attention during the chaos inside there.

You’ll definitely have to worry about the normal mobs you’ll encounter in here too, since they deal a fair amount of damage. But the final room is a different story. Here’s all the mechanics at play in there.

How to beat the Mother of Life in the final room at LEA Labs

As you enter the room, you’ll notice four tanks in the room, one near each corner of the arena. You’ll also see the Mother of Life, and you’ll be able to damage it, so burst it down quickly. Once it gains immunity, Disciples will start to spawn on either side of the arena. Take care of them quickly; they deal a lot of damage.

When you defeat one of them, they drop a purple orb which you must pick up. You then need to throw this orb at the clusters around the room. There are three different clusters, each corresponding to a tank color. You’ll have to destroy the clusters according to the colors of the tanks that you’re trying to fill up.

There’s the normal fire and ice, which are red and blue. But you also have the chance to get a purplish-colored one which will release a lightning Glutton, for when you get the lightning tank.

This has the potential to trip up your run and miss the 20-minute mark, especially with bad RNG. I know, it happened to me! Just make sure that everyone understands that there is another blue-colored Glutton, and that he belongs in the lightning tank, so folks need to pay attention.

It’s also wise to allocate roles, with some players focused on keeping the normal mobs off of the players trying to fill the tanks.

But even then, you could still fail without enough DPS. So how do you deal more damage in LEA?

What you need to defeat LEA Labs

To do a sub-20-minute run, you’ll need a full team with each member dealing at least 40,000-50,000 damage per second (DPS). If you’re not there yet, you’ll need to upgrade your build a bit more. There are plenty of videos on YouTube that could help, depending on the build you’re using.

If you prefer reading, I’ve created a comprehensive guide on the Shrapnel Build, since I’m a Shrapnel specialist right now (and I’ve done a lot of testing).

Following this build guide will quickly get you to where you’re strong enough to face LEA Labs. However, there is one more way you could beat the labs.

Simply ask for help. There are plenty of helpful players in the Once Human servers. It’s probably one of the least toxic player bases I’ve seen in a long time. So don’t be afraid to reach out and ask, you may just get lucky.
