Hogwarts Legacy’s release date is just over the horizon, releasing on PC and the current-gen consoles on Feb. 10. While console players don’t have much to worry about before then, the PC fan base will need to know some information before they pre-order the game. This information mainly boils down to the PC requirements for Hogwarts Legacy, which have been officially confirmed by the developers at Avalanche and Warner Bros.

The PC requirements for any modern AAA title usually involve a couple of lists. These lists are for different graphical expectations for the game. For example, the requirements for Hogwarts Legacy are split up into minimum, recommended, and Ultra 4k. The PC requirements associated with each list let players know what hardware they need to run the game at those specific graphics.

Hogwarts Legacy PC requirements

We’ll begin with the minimum requirements and then work down to recommended and Ultra 4k. For those unaware, the minimum specs will be able to run Hogwarts Legacy at around 720p, 60 FPS while the recommended specs will run the game at a smooth 1080p, 60 FPS. Finally, Ultra 4k will allow players to crank the resolution up to 4k while maintaining 30-60 FPS.

Minimum requirements

  • Operating System: 64-bit Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-6660 (3.3 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 (3.2 GHz)
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 4GB or AMD Radeon RX 470 4GB
  • DirectX Version: DX 12
  • Storage: 85 GB HDD

Recommended requirements

  • Operating System: 64-bit Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 (3.2 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.6 GHz)
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce 1080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or Intel Arc A770
  • DirectX Version: DX 12
  • Storage: 85 GB SSD

Ultra 4k requirements

  • Operating System: 64-bit Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-10700k or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
  • RAM: 32 GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce 3090 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7900XT XT
  • VRAM: 8 GB
  • DirectX Version: DX 12
  • Storage: 85 GB SSD

As you can see, it doesn’t take a modern PC to run Hogwarts Legacy at its minimum settings. However, if you want to crank the game’s graphics to 1440p or 4k, you will need a mostly modern machine.
