Pokémon Go has plenty of great Dragon-type Pokémon but one of the best is Dragonite. A favorite from the original 151, Dragonite is a must-have for any Pokémon Go player, but what are the best moves for it?
Every Pokémon in Pokémon Go has access to a variety of moves from the types they boast, and some surprises thrown into the mix. Of course, some moves are better than others, and in the case of Dragonite, there’s an optimal moveset.
With Dratini frequently featured in Spotlight Hours and Community Days you shouldn’t have too much of an issue getting Dragonite, but when you finally do, here are what moves you’ll want to use to optimize your battling potential with the iconic Pokémon.
The best Dragonite moveset in Pokémon Go
There are two setups that work well for Dragonite in Pokémon Go but the best is the fast attack Dragon Tail paired with the charged move Outrage.
Together these two moves deal a great amount of STAB damage and just generally have good sustain for longer battles. The best part is that these two moves are common so you don’t need to do anything crazy other than use standard TMs to get this setup.
That leads us to the other best move setup for Dragonite, Dragon Tail, and Draco Meteor. If you need high damage fast then this is the best without a doubt as Draco Meteor does huge DPS, but to get this move now you have to use an Elite TM.
While Dragonite has access to a variety of other moves the Dragon-type ones are by far its strongest so we suggest sticking to them instead of using the Steel or Flying-type abilities available.
