Gaia Cliff Monolith Danger Zone Guide — Once Human

The most challenging part of the Gaia Cliff Monolith Danger Zone in Once Human is probably finding the rift anchor. It sure confused me, but I figured it out along with everything else around this exploration, so here’s your handy guide.

Where to enter the Gaia Cliff Monolith Danger Zone

The GPS on the bike will take you up behind the area, which is definitely not the best spot to start from, unless you just want to do the quest and skip the exploration. The better spot to enter is from below, as shown on the map here.

Upon entering, just take it slow and steady. The sniper rifle, as always, came in very handy. Most enemies just require a swift shot to the helmet with the sniper rifle and they’re down.

Where is the Rift Anchor at the Gaia Cliff Monolith?

As you make your way into this zone, you’ll enter an underground area. There are more of those weird tentacles coming up from the center of this huge room, and that’s where you want to head down into the center.

Go to the bottom, and you’ll find the Rift Anchor there. But there’s another secret in this room.

Where is the Weapons Crate at the Gaia Cliff Danger Zone?

Head back up and keep going all the way to the end of this room. At the end, you’ll find a weapons crate, but it’s protected by some kind of vines. To destroy the vines, simply throw a Molotov at them. Be careful not to set yourself on fire.

The Molotov will burn away the vines and you’ll be able to get the weapons crate.

Where is the Mythical Crate at the Gaia Cliff Danger Zone?

Once you exit the underground area, head up the hill and through a tunnel. At this point, the Mythical Crate will be on top of a building on your left-hand side. You won’t be able to get to it straight away, so you’ll need to keep going up the hill.

Once you get to the top, simply jump off in the direction of the mythical crate and then hit space again to activate glide. Simply glide down to the crate and grab it. And that’s it, you’re done with the exploration.

You should encounter an elite enemy somewhere along the way. There are two of them, one in the underground and one just after the underground area. Honestly, I’m not sure which one counts, since I was too caught up in the heat of battle to notice!

Hints and Tips for beating the Treant boss

The Treant is the boss of Gaia Cliff, and if you’re lucky, you’ll have a friend who can help you out. But if not, no sweat. It’s not a tough boss. I recommend grabbing a sniper rifle (as always) and an assault rifle, SMG or LMG as a second choice.

I camped the spot on your right, as you enter the dungeon, shown on the screenshot below.

From there, you can snipe at the regrowing tentacles that you’ll have to kill in order to beat the boss. You’ll also have cover from the beam attack that the boss deploys.

Now, simply take out the tentacles, then start hitting the boss with the sniper rifle. When he attacks you with the orbs, kill them with your rapid-fire weapon, and then keep the boss. When the tentacles regrow, take those out and that’s pretty much that.
