In the first content update of the season, Epic Games decided to go a different direction than the community wanted. Now live on all platforms, the Fortnite v10.00 content update brings a little bit of everything. As with any content update, a new weapon is now in-game along with the much-anticipated arrival of Tilted Town. Although it’s not what Epic Games did in the update — it’s what they didn’t do that has the community upset.
Automatic Sniper Rifle now in Fortnite
Once you download the v10.00 update, the Auto Sniper will be live in-game. While the addition doesn’t break the game, it’s not exactly what players were asking for. Another sniper rifle in Fortnite is more so a wasted weapon spawn to most, as it doesn’t serve many purposes.
Here are the official stats from the v10.00 patch notes:
- Available in Rare, Epic, and Legendary variants.
- Uses Medium Ammo.
- Projectiles travel faster than other Sniper Rifles.
- Damage: 31/33/35
- Headshot: 62/66/70
- 4 Rounds per second.
- 16 Rounds per magazine.
- Uses a reduced zoom scope.
- Can be found from Floor, Chest, Vending Machines, Supply Drops, and Loot Carriers.

The damage on this weapon certainly isn’t anything write home about. However, since it does shoot so quickly, if you can hit your shots the weapon could be lethal. One more thing to note is the Auto Sniper has a faster projectile than other snipers, so you won’t have to lead your shot as much with this weapon.
Time will tell if this was a worthwhile addition to the Fortnite loot pool.
Tilted Town shakes up the game
While we did expect the arrival of Tilted Town, no one expected what would come with it. Tilted Town is replacing Neo Tilted with a Western theme, as the Rift Beacon has sent the location back to when it was first being built (a la Back to the Future).
Time travel seems to be the theme for Season X. Tilted Town is the first of many locations to receive a makeover relating to the past. However, the first rule of time travel is to not touch anything, as you could mess up the future. Epic Games seems to have taken this rule to heart.

In Tilted Town, there is no harvesting of any materials and you cannot build any structure. Along with this, some Western-themed weapons have made a return and can only be looted in Tilted Town.
Unvaulted weapons that only spawn in Tilted Town:
- Double Barrel Shotgun
- Epic and Legendary variants.
- Six Shooter
- Uncommon, Rare, and Epic variants.
- Hunting Rifle
- Uncommon and Rare variants.
- Infantry Rifle
- Common variant.
Some in the community feel this is a refreshing blast from the past while others don’t like the inability to build. Regardless of how you feel, this might become customary for every location that goes through a makeover.
The B.R.U.T.E. is still as powerful as ever
With this update, many fully expected the B.R.U.T.E. to be heavily nerfed. It’s been a problem since the day Season X launched, receiving a bundle of community complaints. However, Epic Games made the decision to remain firm on their new vehicle.
There’s never been anything quite like the B.R.U.T.E. in Fortnite. With very little to counter it or even avoid it, it can be argued that it’s the most overpowered item in Fortnite‘s history. Though, a week into Season X, a nerf has yet to be applied.
Maybe Epic is waiting for v10.01 (next week) so they can have more time to evaluate the mech. Let’s hope this is the case.
