Fortnite Star Wars premiere named Galileo event, receives new cosmetics

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Over the last month or so, Star Wars and Epic Games have collaborated to bring some great content to Fortnite. With the November release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, we saw an Imperial Stormtrooper cosmetic released in Fortnite. However, with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arriving on Dec. 20, there’s even more promotion happening on the Fortnite island. Late last week, we saw movie posters go up all over the map promoting an exclusive scene premiere for Star Wars. This event, named the Galileo event, is taking place at Risky Reels on Dec. 14 at 1:30 P.M. EST.

Although, the Galileo event doesn’t appear to only be about the Star Wars scene premiere. According to leaks from today’s Fortnite update, we could see even more cosmetics.

The Galileo event in Fortnite

While nothing is official, the in-game files refer to the Star Wars premiere as the Galileo event. So, that’s the assumption we’re working under for right now. Dataminers were able to grab many file names and images from the recent update and show us what’s possibly coming to Fortnite.

The Galileo event is taking place at Risky Reels, which has received a complete makeover for the premiere. That said, it looks like the premiere will feature some Star Wars-themed aesthetics around Risky Reels. Credit to @FortTory on Twitter for all of the images below.

While it is obvious what the first two images are, the third image is a bit puzzling. The “GalileoCubeCrate” doesn’t appear to be a Fortnite-related item, meaning it’s probably something from the Star Wars universe. The consensus is the crate is likely simply something that appears on board the First Order and Resistance ships.

Along with the above features for the actual premiere, we also received some leaks regarding future cosmetics. FortTory was able to find an image of a possible Glider and a file name for a supposed upcoming skin.
