We’re near the end of the second week of Fortnite Season 6, which means the Week 2 challenges and our guide are hot off the press. So far, the new season is off to a wild start. The central island of Loot Lake is now floating above the rest of the map, slowly traveling to each of the new corrupted zones. Shadow Stones, a new mobility item, were added, removed, and re-added once more. Pets are now in the game, and some of our favorite locations are being decorated with spooky attractions to match the spirit of the Halloween season. It’s a very exciting time to play the game, especially thanks to all of the new cosmetics and items available in the Battle Pass.

Visit last week’s guide if you’re still catching up, but otherwise, let’s take a look at what the Season 6, Week 2 challenges look like:

Week 2 Free Pass Challenges

  • Visit all of the Corrupted Areas (0/7)
  • Use a Shadow Stone in different matches (0/3)
  • Stage 1: Deal damage with standard Assault Rifles to opponents (0/200) – HARD

Week 2 Battle Pass Challenges

  • Eliminate an opponent from at least 50M away (0/1)
  • Deal damage with pistols to opponents (0/500)
  • SMG eliminations (0/3) – HARD
  • Stage 1: Deal damage with Hunting Rifles to opponents (0/200) – HARD

As before, XP gained will continue to further your progress with the Calamity Challenges, and completing all of this week’s challenges will unlock the second tier of the Hunting Party rewards. Fortunately, the latter should be fairly easy this week. The majority of the changes are either related to combat or Season 6’s new mechanics, and many challenges can be completed simultaneously. Without further ado, let’s dive in.

Visit all of the Corrupted Areas

The first challenge for Season 6, Week 2 is to visit all of the Corrupted Areas. Corrupted Areas are new locations in Fortnite added with the Season 6 update. These areas appear as dark, scorched patches of land with glowing purple runes at their center. Each of these Corrupted Areas occupies a space where the gravity domes were last season, and a few chests spawn at the center of each area. These locations are easy to find because they are clearly marked on the in-game map, and even slow-moving players should be able to visit multiple areas in a single match.

Furthermore, the Corrupted Areas are also surrounded by large quantities of Shadow Stones. These new items, which we’ll describe in greater detail for the next challenge on this list, will help players traverse the map more quickly. Use them to your advantage while traveling and you’ll have visited all seven Corrupted Areas in no time.

Use a Shadow Stone in three different matches

Next, players must use a Shadow Stone in three different matches. This challenge can be combined with the previous one to help you get through this week’s list in fewer matches. As mentioned earlier, Shadow Stones are a new item added with Season 6. These consumables allow players to shift into a shadowy figure for 75 seconds. While in this form, players cannot build, use items, or fire their weapons. However, players travel more quickly and can use a new “Phase” ability. When tapped, this causes the player to dash forward and also enables them to travel through solid objects. Furthermore, players in shadow form can also use the purple pools located at Corrupted Areas as bounce pads. This is especially useful for making a quick exit or, if you’re working on the previous challenge, reach the next Corrupted Area.

It’s true that the Shadow Stones had a, ahem, rocky implementation. They quickly disappeared from the game and now, two weeks deeper into Season 6, are available for use once more.

Stage 1: Deal damage with standard Assault Rifles to opponents

For the final Free Pass challenge of Season 6, Week 2, players must complete a staged challenge. The first stage is to deal damage with standard Assault Rifles to opponents. While this may seem simple enough, there are an additional two stages to complete afterward. Upon successfully dealing 200 damage with standard Assault Rifles, players must then deal 200 damage with Burst Assault Rifles and then another 200 with Silenced Assault Rifles. For most people, the difficulty of this challenge won’t be dealing the damage, but rather finding the right weapon for the job. Remember that the damage for these weapons doesn’t need to be in a single match, and eliminations aren’t necessary either.

Eliminate an opponent from at least 50M away

Moving on to the Battle Pass challenges, this is arguably the most difficult of the batch. Players must eliminate an opponent from at least 50 meters away. For reference, that’s an entire grid square away on the in-game map. Players will want to use highly accurate weapons to complete this. Weapons such as the Hand Cannon, all Snipers, and Hunting Rifles should be your best options. The Heavy Sniper is the best choice for this challenge due to its high damage output and low bullet drop. However, this challenge will likely unlock naturally while completing the last challenge on this list, which is similar to the staged Assault Rifle challenge but instead focused on Snipers. More on that below.

Deal damage with pistols to opponents

The next challenge on the list is fairly straightforward. As with the assault rifle challenge, players must now deal 500 damage with pistols to opponents. While the amount of damage for this challenge is greater, note that there are not multiple stages. Simply use any variety of pistol, whether it’s the standard Handgun, the Silenced Pistol, or the Hand Cannon, and you’ll have this in no time.

SMG eliminations

Disappointingly, like most of this week’s challenges, the next one is also straightforward. Simply earn three SMG eliminations and you’ll net yourself another five Battle Stars. As of last season, SMGs are some of the most powerful and versatile weapons in the game, so they’re useful in most situations. If you’re still having trouble with this or any of the other combat-based challenges, we always recommend trying the 50 v. 50 mode. This places less emphasis on your own performance as there will be much more action on both sides of the battle. Use this to your advantage and try to eliminate distracted or weakened opponents!

Stage 1: Deal damage with Hunting Rifles to opponents

For the last Battle Pass challenge of Season 6, Week 2, players must complete a second staged challenge. As mentioned earlier, this task mirrors this week’s Assault Rifle challenge but instead requires players to use a variety of scoped weapons. The three stages require players to deal 200 damage with each of the following:

  • Hunting Rifles
  • Bolt Sniper Rifles
  • Heavy Sniper Rifles

In doing so, players will most likely also achieve their 50 meter elimination, completing two challenges in the process. Other than that, there’s not much to report for this week. Completing all of these challenges will net you the second tier of the Hunting Party and in turn unlock the loading screen used as the header image for this article. Happy hunting!
