Farming materials and building in Fortnite is a key aspect of this battle royale game. Although some players may find this time consuming and tedious, a new glitch apparently allows players to easily max-out their metal. Since the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2, many glitches have been discovered. These glitches have mostly caused frustration, such as a team rumble glitch which confuses teammates for enemies.
In contrast, players are welcoming the new metal glitch. Out of the three materials, metal is the strongest and is able to take more damage. However, metal is typically the most difficult material to farm. This is because there are very few designated areas that allow players to acquire a large amount. Instead, a few vehicles dotted around the map are the most some players may get. A clip was uploaded to the Fortnite Reddit page demonstrating the farming glitch.
How to max-out your metal
To the east of Frenzy Farm, which is a popular area to land, a gas station can be found. Here, there is a gas pump that cannot be destroyed. This allows players to hit the gas pump as many times as it is required until the maximum metal level has been reached. In the clip, the Fortnite player appears to acquire the metal quite quickly.
Don’t know if this has been posted but you can get max metal off of these gas station pumps, they never break and keep giving you materials. from FortNiteBR
Clearly, this bug can cause issues as players can use this glitch to their advantage and by landing nearby at the start of a game. Although Epic Games has yet to provide a response, it is likely that the glitch will be patched in the future. In the meantime, the status of Fortnite bugs and glitches can be viewed on the official Fortnite Trello board.
