According to leaks, it seems that Fortnite is gearing up for another Chinese New Year event. Taking place on Jan. 25, the Chinese New Year, also called the Lunar New Year, is one of China’s biggest holidays. As such, Epic Games usually does something in Fortnite to celebrate. Whether this means new skins or a full-fledged event, fans should expect something before the week is through. This has been backed up by data-miners going into the files and digging up some Chinese-inspired skins and other cosmetics.
Fortnite celebrates the Chinese New Year
Epic Games has celebrated the Chinese New Year since Fortnite‘s inception. In 2018 and 2019, the company released skins and jaw-dropping cosmetics like the glider you see above. This year, it appears, will be no different.
While we do have a long list of leaked cosmetics, we’re not sure which ones will release for the holiday. Six skins have leaked in total, so it seems unlikely that they will all arrive on or near Jan. 25. This most likely means we’ll see them sometime in the coming weeks or months.

Swift
Smoke Dragon
If Epic Games is planning a content drop for the Chinese New Year, these are the two skins most likely to be seen. Fans have already spotted Swift on Chinese Fortnite promotional posters, and Smoke Dragon looks primed for the holiday drop.
In terms of an in-game event, we’re not sure when this is arriving or if it is at all. However, Epic Games traditionally does something in Fortnite besides releasing skins in the Item Shop. Since today is already Jan. 21, we expect them to announce something in the coming days.
