Fortnite launch pad glitch discovered by player after unvaulting

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Launch pads have returned as a result of the Fortnite v11.50 update and seem to be causing some issues. The recently unvaulted item, first introduced near the time that Battle Royale launched, was welcomed by players as it is a popular way to travel around the huge map. Also, they can be used in battle and used to get out of a storm. The pad is a trampoline-like device that allows a player to jump in the air and use their glider. Once the launch pad is placed on the ground, it can be used an infinite number of times. However, on Reddit, a clip has emerged of a new launch pad glitch.

The launch pad glitch

A player who was on top of a building at Holly Hedges placed the launch pad over an object. Instead of the launch pad breaking the object, the object went straight through the launch pad. In addition, this appeared to cause an obstruction as the player could not use the launch pad due to this. The player attempted to destroy the object going through the lauchpad, but they were killed by an enemy in the process.

The player stated in the comments section underneath the clip that they were playing on the Xbox One X. It is a possibility that this glitch may only be present on the Microsoft console as it does not seem to be a widespread bug at this moment.

Season 2 has brought along many other glitches such as issues with the new Unreal Chaos engine mechanics. Further bugs can be viewed and reported on Fortnite‘s official Trello board. As this can be quite a frustrating and devastating glitch, it is hoped that Epic Games finds a fix soon.
