Fortnite mobile has been a great experience for players wanting to play their favorite game on the go. The mobile experience has mostly been a very positive one and is a true experience of the full game on consoles and PCs, but in the palm of your hands. We have even seen some mobile players build 90s and flick as if on PC, which is quite a spectacle. However, some time last week you may have experienced problems with Fortnite mobile, and Epic has announced what happened and that they are handing out V-Bucks and Battle Stars to make it right with players.

What happened

Epic released patch v9.40 on all platforms on July 17. This patch caused players on iOS to experience stability issues, which prompted the release of another patch, v9.40.1 the following day. This patch caused further problems across the board for players and resulted in players having to uninstall and reinstall the game. Players were receiving the error message, “A file corruption has occurred. Please try again.” Reinstalling the game was the only workaround at the time.

Another new patch, v9.40.2, was released on July 19 that fixed these issues. This patch also fixed the issues that were attempted to be resolved in v9.40. Those issues were making it difficult for mobile players to log in using console credentials. They also wouldn’t remain logged in when “Remember me” was selected.

The make-good gift

Epic has stated that any players affected by the error v9.40.1 will receive 1000 V-Bucks and 15 Battle Stars. Epic sent players their 1000 V-Bucks on July 22. If you have not received them and were affected by this, contact Epic support or keep an eye on their Trello board for more information. Epic will also be updating the Trello board about the 15 Battle Stars players are set to receive.
