I never thought that Fortnite and fishing would be an actual thing, but since the launch of Chapter 2, it is. A new event has begun, the Fortnite Fishing Frenzy Contest “presented by Triggerfish.” Players will be able to compete to win a Bottom Dweller pickaxe or an actual life-sized llama trophy. The competition starts today, Nov. 22, and ends at 8 p.m. ET Sunday, Nov. 24. So you have the whole weekend to fish to your heart’s content in hopes of bringing home a llama trophy to display proudly. Every server will have winners in various categories, though NAE and NAW servers will be combined. All players that participate this weekend will receive the Play to Win spray item.
You are only allowed to use your fishing rod; any fish you catch using the Harpoon Gun do not count. Two-factor authentication must also be enabled on your account. All winners will get a notification in-game through the gifting system as well as an email sent to their email linked with their Epic ID. The Triggerfish skin (below) will also be available for purchase via the Item Shop at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 22.

Other important information
Prizes are limited to one per player from any of the Top Angler, Small Fry Champion, Flopper Champion, Slurpfish Champion, and Mythic Goldfish categories. The “Getting Hooked on Fishing” category, which yields Play to Win, will be the only one with an unlimited number of winners. The event is also only available in core modes as opposed to in competitive playlists. This could be the start of many more fishing tournaments like Fortnite Fishing Frenzy. Happy fishing, Fortnite players, and may the best angler win!
