Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2 has been delayed until Feb. 20 by Epic Games. Their reasoning for this comes from the implementation of a new engine, being the Chaos engine. However, the developers also have a ton of additional work preparing the new battle pass, content, and map changes. While Season 1 of Fortnite didn’t have much of anything, Season 2 will look to correct this, potentially starting with the map changes. According to a leaker, we already have a screenshot of the new map, though its authenticity is being called into question.
New Fortnite map real or fake?
We’ve seen multiple false leaks before big content drops in Fortnite, so this could swing either way. The leak concerning the new map comes from 4chan, a popular forum where anonymous users can post any kind of information. Late last night, one user posted three images regarding Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2. @ShiinaBR has the images on his Twitter.
A possible leak of the upcoming Season 2 cinematic + map was posted on 4Chan. The pictures are super blurry, but that's nothing new when it comes to 4Chan leaks (lol).
In my opinion, the pictures are faked, but there is a chance that they are real.

The two images next to the map are supposedly screenshots from the Season 2 cinematic trailer. Fortnite always releases a trailer with the start of every new season, so that’s not out of the ordinary. What is, however, is the images don’t really match the usual style of cinematic trailers. Although, they also aren’t the highest quality of images.
Beside the images is reportedly the Fortnite Season 2 map. If you’ve played any of Season 2, then you’ll know right off the bat that not much has changed. The major difference comes in the top right, where a pink substance is covering an area of the map. Though this might look like a gimmick, this was actually hinted at in the Season 1 cinematic trailer. @iFireMonkey wisely pointed this out on Twitter.
There was so much purple in that 4chan "leak" and all I can think of is this scene from the trailer lol pic.twitter.com/aMkAW7wFa3

All in all, there’s just no way to tell if the leaks are true or not. In our estimation, the chances of the map and trailer images being true are low. However, we can’t completely rule them out as possibilities.
