The FIFA 20 Global Series kicked off with the first two FUT Champions Cup tournaments in Bucharest, Romania. After that, the FIFA pros who qualified made their way down to Atlanta, USA, for a third FUT Champions cup.
Now the fourth cup tournament is heading to Paris, France, from February 23 to 25. The FIFA 20 Global series is unique so far for having three different title winners and new faces in the pro scene. At the recent FUT Champions Cup 3, Swedish star Olle “Ollelito” Arbin became the first-ever Swede to win the cup.
FIFA FUT Champions Cup IV format
Eight FIFA pro players are already confirmed to compete at the event in Paris. These eight are the top four from PS4 and Xbox, respectively, in FUT Champions Cup 3. This is due to the new Global Series Masters recognition for this season. This means players who reached the top four at the most recent FUT Champions Cup automatically head to Paris without having to play through Weekend League qualifiers.
Another noticeable difference to the FUT Champions Cup stage is the involvement of ELeague. They hosted the FUT Champions Cup in Atlanta and seem set to do so again in Paris. However, before FIFA 20 goes to Paris, it makes a quick stop in Italy for the FIFA eClub World Cup. The eClub World Cup takes place in Milan from February 7 to 9.
The King eSports magic duo of Nicolas “Nicolas99fc” Villalba and Donovan “Tekkz” Hunt, who won last year’s eClub World Cup, will not compete under the same banner for this year. As the group stage announcement happens tomorrow, the magic duo could even face each other.
The FIFA FUT Champions Cup has seen new champions rise and old kings fall. Saudi Arabia’s Mossad “Msdossary” Aldossary still awaits his first FUT Cup of the season as he suffered a semi-final loss in the Xbox round. The Arabian king already has a ticket to Paris through automatic qualifications, so his shot at another accolade remains a possibility.
