FC Barcelona has signed the Spanish Rocket League roster of White Demons, the organization announced Monday.
White Demons originally consisted of two Spanish and one German player. After replacing Maik “Tigreee” Hoffmann with Samuel “Zamué” Cortés in July, the roster became fully Spanish. Zamué, Cristian “crr” Fernandez and Ivan “Dorito” Ruiz Jiménez are all relative newcomers to the professional Rocket League scene. They both made their Rocket League Championship Series debut last season. With White Demons, FC Barcelona has signed a talented line-up.

Barça signs a promising roster
White Demons popped up shortly after the start of RLCS X, in November of 2020. The Spanish scene has made a large leap into the competitive scene, with many players suddenly showing up at the top level during RLCS X. Each of the FC Barcelona players made a name for themselves in the last year.
The new Barça roster finished in 12th place in the overall European RLCS X rankings. They made one major, where they finished in the top 10, but their best result came in the second spring regional event. There they finished in third-fourth place, eliminating the likes of Top Blokes and Guild Esports.
Zamué is a recent signing to the roster after he was replaced by superstar Maëllo “AztraL” Ernst on Vodafone Giants. The Giants have since been signed to Karmine Corp, while White Demons replace the previous Barça roster of Ronald “Tahz” Oosting, Fredi “fredi” Lazarus and Nacho “Nachitow” Gimenez.
After fielding a world-class team in RLCS 7, Barça had decent, to great, performances throughout the following seasons. However when the roster fell apart in the early stages of RLCS X, the organization was forced to sign a less-talented roster and ultimately fell out of contention. By signing White Demons, FC Barcelona imply they intend to climb back up to the top of the esport.
