A pair of fast-paced players from the American Southeast join the fray

Backed by FURIA Esports, Fatality will attend Summit for the first time at Smash Ultimate Summit 4. The Georgia Captain Falcon main’s campaign included more than 170 hours of streaming and an unfortunate new hairdo.

Perhaps no player represents the ups and downs of Summit voting better than Goblin. Over the past few days, he has repeatedly jumped between the top of the pack and the bottom. Nevertheless, Goblin made it into Smash Ultimate Summit 4. He follows fellow Moist Esports members Kolawole “Kola” Aideyan and Aaron “Aaron” Wilhite, both of whom were voted into Smash Ultimate Summit 3.

Two other players fell out of the voting process on Monday: James “VoiD” Makekau-Tyson and Arda “Raflow” Imrek. VoiD, who was voted into the previous Summit, announced his decision to opt out shortly before the end of the first voting period. Although Raflow has missed his shot at Summit, the French Palutena main will still get to compete in the United States at Glitch: Infinite this weekend.

More about Fatality and Goblin at Smash Ultimate Summit 4

Both of Smash Ultimate Summit 4’s first vote-ins, Fatality and Goblin, appeared in the B tier of the most recent official Ultimate ranking, PGRUContenders. This places them both in the top 24 of all players in North America.

Fatality fell out of the global top 50 during Ultimate’s second season in late 2019. However, he came into his own at post-quarantine offline tournaments. His peak performance came at CEO 2021, where he defeated Chris “WaDi” Boston, Eric “ESAM” Lew and Jestise “MVD” Negron en route to fourth place.

Although Goblin’s mediocre regional performances held him back on PGRUContenders, the Floridian Roy main boasts incredibly high peaks at majors. In the past year, he has placed in the top eight of Riptide, Low Tide City 2021 and Let’s Make Big Moves 2022.

Four more vote-ins will join Fatality and Goblin at Smash Ultimate Summit 4. The next voting period will end at 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Feb. 16.
